This statue of Guan Yin was carved out of soap stone by one of China's master carvers. It is signed by the master. He was considered by the government of China to be a national treasure. His works have been on display at the forbidden city museum. At the time of production of this beautiful and graceful statue only masters of their art were allowed to sign their work.
